Friday-Sunday – Mother’s Day Weekend at Lewis Ginter – Celebrate Mother’s Day all weekend long at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. On Friday, the historic Bloemendaal House will be open to the public from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for free guided tours. On Saturday, there will be “make-and-take” craft activities in the Children’s Garden where kids can make a card or a hat for mom. On Sunday, a Mother’s Day concert will be held at the Bloemendaal House from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Food is also available for purchase in front of Bloemendaal House from noon-3 p.m.
Saturday – BFD Music Festival – XL102’s Big Field Day brings Weezer, PVRIS, Bob Moses, Dreamers and Skratch N Sniff. 6:30 p.m. The Classic Amphitheater at Richmond International Raceway, 600 E. Laburnum Ave.
Sunday – Museum District Mother’s Day Tour – Go inside some of the most beautiful homes and gardens in the Museum District for a special Mother’s Day Tour. 1-6 p.m. Starts at the Virginia Historical Society, 428 North Boulevard. There will be a free trolley that will run throughout the tour.
Sunday – Music in the Park – The popular free concert series in Forest Hill Park kicks off, just in time for Mother’s Day, with Afro-Zen Allstars playing funky Ethiopian jazz. Bring a blanket and picnic dinner. 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Forest Hill Park, New Kent Road and West 42nd Street.
