Friday, Sept. 15-Sunday, Sept. 17 – St. Benedict’s Oktoberfest – More than 50 beers will be on tap at St. Benedict’s Oktoberfest in the Museum District. A whole beer truck will be devoted to fall-themed ales from local craft breweries such as Ardent, Hardywood and Isley among others. Hardywood will have its own Biergarten on Belmont Avenue and will be releasing the 2017 batch of their “Benny & the Fest” lager at the festival. Plus German beer, German cuisine, a stein-holding competition that gets pretty wild, and a kids’ zone for a fee. 4-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday; noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Saturday, Sept. 16 – Family Day at VMFA – Celebrate the art and culture of the Caribbean with free dance performances, music, hands-on art activities and more. The day will feature dance by the Latin Ballet of Virginia and Agua Dulce Dance Company, as well as lively music from DJ Peluche Productions. Visitors can participate in dance workshops, language interactives, and join in a festival parade. Kids can make a Caribbean mask and a maraca, and get their faces painted. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. Saturday, Sept. 16 – 43rd Street Festival of the Arts – Browse the stalls of 75 juried artists and craft-makers at the 43rd Street Festival of the Arts. Paintings, jewelry, ceramics and more from local and regional artists will be on view. There will also be food for sale, as well as music from Susan Greenbaum, The Illbillys, Tin Can Fish Band, Bluz Catz and Janet Martin. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free entry. 43rd Street Gallery, 1412 W. 43rd St.

Saturday, Sept. 16 – Bluegrass Fest at Hardywood – All-day celebration of music with food trucks and Hardywood craft beer on tap. Featuring music from The Hot Seats, Slack Family Bluegrass Band, River City Band, Dragon Run and Sweet Yonder. Food trucks Arroz RVA, Dank Eats, Gelati Celesti, Prost, Sammich and Saucy’s BBQ will also be there. 1-10 p.m. Free entry; pay as you go. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, 2408 Ownby Lane.
