State Fair of Virginia kicks off this weekend. A few special things to look for this weekend: a performance from Love Canon, The Crooked Road music series, a Brunswick Stew Competition, a SPAM competition, a giant pumpkin and watermelon weigh-in and lots more. The Broadyway smash “Jersey Boys” returns to Richmond to tell the story of Frankie Valli and the epic rise of The Four Seasons. Sunday, Oct. 1 – Party on the Avenues – Free family-friendly festival to celebrate the neighborhood with food, shopping, beer, cocktails and a kids’ zone with a bounce house, jugglers, face-painting and more.
