Saturday – Pet Expo – Got a pet and looking for more than you’ll find at PetSmart? Check out the Pet Expo where you can find everything from obedience trainers to toys to pet-related products and services. Visit more than 50 vendors and services while taking in a full day of pet-related activities including a pet parade, puppy races, dog contests, agility demonstrations, an agility course, plus dog and cat adoptions. Goliath, the four-year-old Richmond Rottweiler “celebrity,” will be there too. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex $12 for adults, $5 for children under 12; pets are free. All proceeds benefit Henrico Humane Society.
Saturday – No BS! Brass Band – Catch an early set time for No BS! Brass, Richmond’s loudest, most raucous brass party band. The Broadberry. 7 p.m. $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
Sunday & Monday – Richmond Jewish Food Festival – Head to the Weinstein JCC this weekend for the Jewish Food Festival where you can fill up your plate with beef brisket, potato latkes, knishes and more homemade goodies. Plus klezmer music, kids’ music and more entertainment through the two-day festival. 11:30 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. Free entry, pay as you go.
Sunday – Henry Rollins – The outspoken rocker rolls into town on his latest spoken word tour. He’s currently on a “travel slideshow” where he shows photos he’s taken on his trips all over the world from Baghdad to Timbuktu. 7:30 p.m. at The National. $20-$29.50.
