Head to Main Street Station for the Virginia Wine Expo this weekend. The wildly popular all-inclusive SMOKED! event will kick off the festivities Friday night for $90 with food, wine, whiskey and barrel-aged craft beer. Walk Around Grand Tasting events will be Saturday and Sunday at different timed sessions, where more than 300 wines will be poured by 40 wineries. $55 and up for Grand Tasting sessions. 21 and older only. 1500 E. Saturday – Mardi Gras RVA

Mardi Gras in Richmond has gotten so much better with the fabulous and free Mardi Gras RVA parade. Head to Manchester at 15th and Bainbridge streets for a small artsy parade complete with people in Mardi Gras costumes, music and lots of bead-throwing from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a Mardi Gras celebration inside Dogtown Theatre from 4 to 8:30 p.m. with belly dancers, hula-hoopers, hip-hop and more. Saturday -Dogtown Winter Beer & Oyster Fest

If you’re in Manchester for Mardi Gras RVA, swing by The Butterbean for the first Dogtown Winter Beer and Oyster Festival. The event from the newbie restaurant features craft beer, cider, wine and kombucha on tap, a raw oyster station from Anderson’s Neck Oyster Co., four bands inside and outside, plus four outdoor fire pits and propane heaters. 2-10 p.m. at 1204 Hull St. Free; pay as you go.
